It’s been hammered home a million times. And it’s probably one of the first things that you’re taught whether you’re in the classroom or reading a book on the craft of writing.
So here’s a reminder, when you have a big word count and find yourself doing a lot of explaining on behalf of your characters, just remember,
The man ran.
He did not think about running.
The character was not nervous
Their hands shook as they took a sip from their glass.
